Spend two full days exploring the great sites of Cairo, then fly to Luxor or Aswan and board your cruise ship, a very comfortable home for the next four nights. Visit Memphis, Step Pyramid at Sakkara, Giza, Sphinx, Karnak, Luxor, Thebes, Esna, Edfu, Kom-Ombo, Elephantine Island, Agha Khan Mausoleum, Botanical Garden, Aswan High Dam, Philae Temple, Unfinished Obelisk, and the Granite Quarries. Throughout you are accompanied by Egyptologist guides. All entrance fees, taxes, service charge and transfers are included.


DAILY ITINERARY

DAY 1: CAIRO
Arrive at Cairo International airport where you will be met by our local representative who will assist you with immigrations and customs formalities and transfer you to your hotel.

DAY 2: CAIRO
After breakfast meet with your guide to start a full day tour. Drive to Memphis on the edge of the Western desert, the capital of the Ancient Kingdom and one of the most important cities throughout the history of Ancient Egypt. From there drive to Sakkara, the vast necropolis of Memphis where you visit the colossal Step Pyramid of King Djoser, its temple complex and some of the impressive tombs. Continue to the Giza Plateau to visit the three Great Pyramids, built before 2000 B.C., and the Sphinx. You will have some free time to ride a camel, then return to your hotel for overnight. 

DAY 3: CAIRO
After breakfast start your second full day tour in Cairo. Visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses the most extensive and impressive collection of treasures from Egypt's Pharaonic era including the fabulous treasures of the young King Tut Ankh Amon. In the afternoon, proceed to the 12th Century Citadel of Saladin on the Mokattam Hill and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Then on to Cairo's oldest quarter, Coptic Cairo. Visit the churches of Moallaqua and St Sergius and the 14th century Synagogue of Ben Ezra. Return to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 4: CAIRO/LUXOR
After breakfast, you will be met in the lobby and transferred to the domestic terminal at Cairo airport for your flight to Luxor (or Aswan depending on the boat itinerary; Days 5-9 may run in reverse). Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the pier for your 5 days/4 nights Nile Cruise. After lunch visit the Karnak Temple Complex and the Luxor Temple, both on the Nile's East bank. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: LUXOR
After breakfast cross the Nile to the west bank to see the rich Necropolis of Thebes. You will visit some of the impressive tombs at Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens and stop at Deir-El-Bahari temple and the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch sail to Esna. Dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 6: ESNA/EDFU
After breakfast visit the temple of the god Khnum at Esna. Lunch on board while sailing south, where you visit the most well-preserved of Egypt's temples, Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo with dinner and overnight on board.

DAY 7: KOM OMBO/ASWAN
After breakfast visit the temple shared by the two gods Sobek and Haroeris. Sail on to Aswan for an afternoon tour of the Agha Khan Mausoleum, the Botanical Island and Elephantine Island. Dinner and overnight on board. Optional trip to Abu Simbel available at extra cost.

DAY 8: ASWAN/CAIRO
This morning visit the Granite Quarries, Unfinished Obelisk, Philae Temple and the High Dam. Disembark and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 9: CAIRO
After breakfast you will be transferred to the International terminal of Cairo airport for your flight back home.
